Driving Directions

Coming from the North or East (from Vicksburg, Jackson, Brookhaven, and McComb on 61S, 84W, or 98W):  Pass Wendy’s, Ryan’s, and Kentucky Fried Chicken on the right and do not turn at the next light but go straight, following Hwy 61 Business.  Go straight for almost two miles.  Note that the street name changes from D’Evereux (a four-lane divided road) to St. Catherine (a two-lane one-way street, to Jefferson St. (a one-lane one-way city street, part of the grid plan of downtown) but you have never turned.  Once you are on Jefferson Street, go one block beyond the second blinking red light and turn left onto Wall St.  Go four blocks on Wall St. and then either turn right (see On Washington St. below) to park on the street in front of the house or go straight (see S. Wall St. below) to park behind the house.

Coming from the South (from Baton Rouge on Hwy 61N):  Pass Shoney’s and Taco Bell on your left and get into the left lane.  Just after the first traffic light, get into one of the two left turn lanes at the large intersection in front of McDonald’s and turn left onto Hwy 84W toward the River Bridge.  At the first stoplight, turn right onto Homochitto St.   At the second stoplight (Malt Shop on the left and Exxon on the right), turn right onto Martin Luther King St. Go one block and turn left onto Washington St.  Cross four streets (Rankin, Union, Commerce, and Pearl).  At the fifth street (S. Wall St.), you can go straight (see On Washington St. below) to park on the street in front of the house or turn left (see S. Wall St. below) to park behind the house.

Coming from the West (from Monroe, Alexandria, Houston and Dallas via Ferriday and Vidalia on Hwy 65E and 84E): Cross the river bridge. At the first stoplight, on the top of the hill, turn left onto Canal St.  At the fifth stoplight, turn right onto State St., go one block and turn right onto S Wall St., go one block and either turn right (see On Washington St. below) to park on the street in front of the house or go straight (see S. Wall St. below) to park behind the house..

On Washington St. - you will park on the street on the right hand side.  We are the third (and last) house on the left in the 200 block of Washington St.  There is a lighted sign out front.  Park on the street in front of the house and ring the front doorbell. 

On S. Wall St.  From Washington St., go one-half block on S. Wall St. and turn right onto Wensel Lane.  Park in the parking lot at the end of the road on the right, behind our house.  If you are staying in the Cottage you can park in the driveway on the near side of the little red Cottage that is the only building on the right.  Ring the doorbell on the back porch of the house. If there is no answer, go around to the front and pick up the courtesy phone on the porch that will automatically dial our cell phone when you pick it up.
